Elizabeth "Betsy" Weaver was born about 1760. Her father, Daniel Weaver, was born in 1724 in Laurel Co., Kentucky. He was the son of James Peter Weaver of Hereford Co. or Scooby, England. It is believed that Elizabeth was a direct descendant of Johann Gutenberg, the inventor of the printing machine. Elizabeth and her brother, Samuel Weaver, inherited a "Gutenberg Bible" which they presented to their friend, Andrew Jackson, when he became President of the United States.
